What is Spurs?
Spurs on Service is a program for businesses with the intention of perpetuating our western, friendly culture.
It is a multi-pronged program with rewards for employees and employers. Businesses can enroll to earn from 1 - 4 Spurs signifying the quality of service of their business.

Business Service Certification Program
Businesses can enroll for a fee to earn from 1 – 4 Spurs signifying the quality of service of their business. The businesses that achieve four spurs are recognized in the Visitor’s Guide for guests to see. Each business also receives a P.O.S. plaque, use of logo for advertising, and recognition in Chamber publications and website.
How Do I Enroll?
The cost to participate in this program is $200 and includes two secret shopping services. Download the application form and review the point and scoring system. To enroll, email the form to email@example.com, fax to (970) 285-3550, mail to P.O. Box 774408, Steamboat Springs, CO, or drop off at the Chamber (125 Anglers Drive).
Secret Shopping Ratings: 80 points possible
In-House Company Policies: 20 points possible
TOTAL: 100 points possible
4 Spurs = 80 - 100
3 Spurs = 60 - 79
2 Spurs = 40 - 59
1 Spur = 20 - 39
To achieve a minimum of 1 Spur you must have:
- Clearly posted complaint/return/cancellation policy
- Visitor comment mechanism in place
