Depot Block Party

Day and Time: Sunday Aug. 22, 3:00 pm
Where: The Depot

About the Event: Join the Steamboat Springs Arts Council at their Depot Block Party to celebrate the arts. Complete your All Arts Festival weekend with live music by Steamboat Swings Big Band, view the Summer Art exhibit, and delight yourself in food & libation.

Over a century ago, the Depot opened its doors to become one of the major cattle shipping points in the West. It served passenger rail traffic until 1968. Fallen into disuse, the Depot was resurrected in 1980 by a group of citizens, headed by Eleanor Bliss, as a community art center and home of the Steamboat Springs Arts Council. The Depot is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Steamboat Swings is a big band made up of musicians from across the Yampa Valley playing music from the swing era to the present. During the Depot Block Party, the Arts Council’s Member Artists’ Show will be on exhibit throughout the galleries. The party is free, and a cash bar and food will be available.
