Texture Techniques and Some of Their Uses
Art Medium: Watercolor Painting

About the Workshop: Beginner and intermediate painters will learn to use a six way wash to enhance the light source. Each painter will leave with the knowledge and example of the six way wash and how to use it as an under base on which to paint a scene. Other experimental techniques will also be demonstrated.
About the Instructor: Mary was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah and has lived and painted in many regions of the U.S. Currently she resides in Steamboat Springs. She has been a professional painter for 20 years and an instructor for Colorado Mountain College, teaching watercolor painting courses. Mary has won numerous awards for her work, including a Merit Award for her piece "Aspen Gold" in Watercolor Magic Watermedia Showcase, an international competition. Her work has also been published in regional and national publications.
Bring*: 9 x 12 palette with lid, masking tape, a board to tape paper to, 22 x 30 watercolor paper 1 sheets Arches 140lb cold press paper natural or white, or watercolor block, drawing pencil, eraser, one set of primary watercolor paints (Grumbacher or Cotman), brushes: 1 ½-2 in. flat brush and 10 in. round brush (Windsor Newtons Cotman or other), small spray bottle and something to carry supplies in.
