Matt Windt Named Special Events and Sponsorship Director for the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO-The Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association has named Matt Windt the new Special Events and Sponsorship Director.

"We are delighted to welcome Matt to our marketing team," said Sandy Evans Hall, executive vice president of SSCRA.  "His special events experience, understanding of the Steamboat Springs community, sponsorship and sales experience and enthusiasm will play a key role in implementing our line up of special events."
 
Matt Windt, local entrepreneur and co-owner of TV-17 comes to the Chamber Resort Association with experience at a variety of sales positions in Steamboat Springs.  Windt is looking forward to returning to his passion, special events marketing. 

"I am excited for the opportunity to grow the events that are well-recognized and significant to our community's heritage as well as explore new event possibilities to draw visitors to Steamboat," Windt said. "I look forward to working collaboratively with members of the community to ensure the successful execution of these events and achieve common goals."

Prior to re-locating to Steamboat Springs in 2002, Windt was the Special Events Supervisor for the Killington Ski Area.  At Killington Windt worked closely with the community as well as national sponsors to successfully implement a variety of special events and family activities. Windt was responsible for establishing Killington's Event Sponsorship Program, matching local and national businesses with events to maximize cross-promotional opportunities.  A graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Advertising and Public Relations, Windt is married and serves on the Rocky Mountain Youth Corps Board of Directors.

In this role, Windt will be responsible for the implementation of the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association's featured events including: the Winter Carnival Street Events, Steamboat Marathon, Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup, Fourth of July Parade, Balloon Rodeo and Labor Day's Wild West Air Fest.  Windt is also responsible for overseeing the allocation of the City of Steamboat Springs' Special Event Funding which is earmarked for marketing non-ski season events and is the contact for the community calendar on www.steamboachamber.com and www.steamboatsummer.com.
