Guest Blogger Guidelines

Thank you for taking interest in our guest blogger program. We are thrilled to have you on board!

The Steamboat Chamber Daily Blog strives to post a new experience every day. Since our blog is read by community members and visitors alike we try to cover a variety of topics. We do, however, try to write from a perspective with the assumption that the reader has never visited Steamboat Springs before. Therefore,it is important to identify people and places with full and complete names and always remember to capture the essence of Steamboat’s genuine western friendliness, Ski Town, U.S.A. ® pride and Olympic heritage. The Steamboat Chamber Daily Blog is an opportunity to give an insider’s look to this wonderful town both through daily life and through the summer and winter activities we are known for best. We also love submissions from Steamboat visitors. If you know someone who has recently visited the Boat and would be interested in writing about their experience pass this information along to them. Topics of interest:
events, outdoor winter activities, alternative winter activities to do inside, positive personal reflection on a town related experience, i.e. a hike, your day on the mountain, horse back riding etc., kids activities, student related or young adult activities, music, food, arts, Olympic heritage.

Some tips for writing:

• Remember a blog is not as formal as a magazine article. It’s ok to approach it like a journal entry but remembering that others will be reading it and good grammar is important.
• Keep it short. One or two paragraphs is more than fine!
Include links and a relevant photo. The more links the more views a post gets. It also makes the entry more fun to read.
• Variety is key! Take a look at older posts and try to cover a different topic or present it from a different perspective.
• We are only able to link to our member businesses.
• This is not an opportunity for promoting your business directly but reflecting on experiences related to an activity or event your company or business provides is acceptable but may be edited for content.
• Once your blog is posted makes sure to share the link with friends, family and customers on your own social media accounts. Spread the word!
