2010 Parade Grand Marshals: Orval “Junior”, Chad and Travis Bedell
The Bedell family roots in the yampa valley date back more than 100 years and Orval, Chad and Travis have been working cowboys, hands-on ranchers and outfitters all their lives.  While the steamboat area is their residence, they have also operated a ranch in jensen, utah where they have wintered livestock.
Orvall, who is the father of Chad and Travis, was rasied on a ranch in Clark where he is still active in the ranching and livestock community and as a ferrier. He has been shoeing horses since he was nine-years old—a span covering more than 60-years.   He is a well-known horse trainer and is an active competitor in roping, team penning and sorting and a variety of ranch horse events.
In addition to his local heritage, Chad is one of Colorado’s reknown cowboys having competed in the prca and national finals rodeo competition throughout the 90’s.  He capped his career in 1996 by winning the world championship steer wrestling title at the NFR finals in Las Vegas in 1996.  He currently is ranch manager at the Marabou Ranch.
Travis, like his brother, was born in Steamboat Springs and lives in Clark where he is active in ranching and livestock, is a ferrier, a carpenter and an outfitter.  He trains horses and is competitive in roping and ranch rodeos.
